have teamed up to design and fabricate commercial self cleaning tanks for high density larval culture. Superior quality Gemini Fiberglass circular one piece tanks are used for the self cleaning models. Oceans Design is the sole U.S. manufacturer of self cleaning aquaculture tanks!
Self cleaning tank models are in diameters 72", 96" and 108".
Tanks can be designed with both center and side drain outlets, and bottom inlets for upwelling or side inlets.
Customization of self cleaners is our specialty!
All wetted materials are either PVC or 316L stainless steel.
Gemini Fiberglass fabricates these self cleaning tanks with a a trough extending from the tank center to the side wall. Oceans Design has designed a brush which rotates 1.5 times per hour, depositing waste from the tank floor and side wall into the trough. The tank bottom is left clean of debris, biofilm is kept to a minimum, and the waste can be siphoned from the trough in seconds. Cleaning the bottom of commercial sized larval tanks is labor intensive and can take a technician hours to clean multiple tanks. Our self cleaning tanks reduce this labor requirement down to minutes while providing a tank that is clean of debris.
